Vermont Natural Coatings’ PolyWhey™ wood finishes enhance the innate beauty of wood with environmentally safe whey proteins, a natural by-product of the dairy industry. This hard-wearing “polymer” wood coating meets the highest professional and environmental standards. Whey, a by-product of cheese making, has been reformulated into a durable, natural wood finish, a potential waste product taken out of the waste stream and put to a useful purpose.
PolyWhey has a cured hardness twice that of other water-based finishes, making it scratch, chemical, and water resistant. Conventional water-based finishes have an average coating coverage of 300 to 400sq.ft./gallon versus PolyWhey's coverage of 500-600 SF p/gallon.
